Samuel Morgan performing Bowen Technique on feet

The Bowen Technique

Gentle, precise bodywork without force.

Gentle moves. Time to respond.

Bowen uses a series of gentle, precise movements across muscles and soft tissue, applied with the fingers and thumbs. Short pauses between each set give you time to rest and notice how your body responds.

There is no manipulation or sustained pressure, and you remain clothed throughout. It is a quiet, unhurried form of bodywork that many people find deeply relaxing.

Precise bodywork on the neck and shoulders

A lighter approach to bodywork.

Bowen may appeal if you:

  • Prefer light-touch bodywork
  • Feel physically tense or overworked but do not want deep pressure
  • Want time to slow down and reconnect with your body
  • Are looking for a quieter alternative to conventional massage
  • Are curious about a gentle form of hands-on bodywork

Calm, measured and unhurried.

Sessions last 50–60 minutes. We begin with a brief conversation about what has brought you and what you would like from the session. The number and timing of any further sessions are discussed individually.

The work moves at a calm pace, with pauses between movements. Some people experience the session as deeply restful, although everyone responds differently.
