Samuel Morgan performing Bowen Technique on feet

The Bowen Technique

Gentle, effective, and suitable for almost everyone

Gentle moves. Profound results.

Bowen involves a series of gentle, precise moves across muscle, tendon and soft tissue, using fingers and thumbs with light pressure. Between each set of movements, there are short pauses that allow the body to begin its own process of response and rebalancing.

It is one of the gentler forms of bodywork — there is no manipulation, no sustained pressure, and no requirement to undress. Many clients find it deeply relaxing from the first session.

Precise bodywork on the neck and shoulders

A wide range of physical conditions.

  • Muscular and skeletal pain, including back, neck and shoulders
  • Knee, hip and pelvic issues
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Sports injuries and recovery
  • Digestive issues
  • Fatigue, anxiety and stress
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

Calm, measured and often surprising.

Many clients notice improvement within 2–3 sessions. Sessions last 50–60 minutes. You remain clothed throughout.

The calm, measured pace of a Bowen session often produces a pronounced sense of physical ease — and many clients find this carries through into improved mood and mental wellbeing.
